01 December 2020

From December to January, members of the public are invited to drop off donations of toys, books, stationary supplies and children’s clothing at their local RE/MAX office as part of the annual RE/MAX National Toy & Book Collection. At the end of January 2021, the donations will be dropped off at various local charities and children’s organisations across the country.

According to Adrian Goslett, Regional Director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa, if we each just contribute in our own small way, we could collectively effect greater change within our communities. “This year has been tough for just about everyone. Let’s show some neighbourly love to one another by giving what we can – whether that’s time, money or donations – this festive season,” he encourages.

Those who are unable to donate are encouraged to find other ways to give back this festive season. “Money is understandably tight for many this festive season, but it costs nothing to volunteer at a local charity or non-profit organisation. Sadly, the amount of in-person volunteering opportunities might be limited owing to the risk COVID-19 infections, but neighbourhood clean-ups might be a good way around this as these should pose less risk (provided everyone follows social distancing rules). If you’re looking for ways to give back, I would recommend following a local suburb expert on social media to find community projects and campaigns to support,” Goslett concludes.

Contact your nearest RE/MAX Office to find out if they’re participating.
